Morning Time

I would say that I am not a morning person.

Before the kiddos arrived, I would get up super early every morning to go to work. But I would never do it just for pleasure. Every time I had a chance to sleep late, I would. Papito, on the other hand...he loves to get up early. He would get up as early as he could on his days off, to get the most out of his day.
Papito and I had a strong commitment that was interrupted when the twins were born, which was to have a devotional time every day. We tried several ways to continue this when our beloved little ones joined our family. We tried praying at night, after the kiddos go to bed. We tried each of us praying at work/at nap time. However, our efforts of having a connection time with God every day was not consistently successful.
Starting when the twins where almost 3 years old, we made a resolution to wake up every day 1.5 hour before our normal time to get ready for the day and to pray for one hour.  It was not an easy decision for me. However, I can say that has been one of the best decisions we have ever made.
Our first 2 Children's Bibles
When we started to get up early, the kiddos did as well. At the beginning we felt kind of defeated in our search of a time to connect with God. However, we gathered the children's Bibles we had at home and told the children that if they wanted to get up early it would be to pray. They knew they could join us, as long as they looked at their Bibles and/or prayed with us.
Our new additions
The result has been more than we could have ever imagined. Now the kiddos clearly know that it is good to connect with God every day. Pray, sing, read the Bible, listen to a sermon, think and talk about God...When we miss our morning devotional time, they will ask: Why didn't you pray today?
A huge impression has occurred in the kiddos' hearts and minds about connecting with God and finding guidance and passion for life and everything we do on a daily basis. And all of our lives have been transformed. Thank you Jesus for always making a way for us.

What has been the best decision you have made lately?
