Indoor Race

When some of our friends are trying to salvage what is left after the flood, we are still playing mainly indoors because we have not seen rain for months and the temperatures continue to be crazy high.

What a perfect time to create our very own indoor race...  and what fun we had.  :)
At the beat of Run, Run, Run from Vineyard Music

I prepared a finish line banner that spelled Jesus to hang across the living room for the KidDOS to run around the house. It worked out great and each of them earned medals for their good running efforts.  :)

I love these series of CDs. I believe there is 3 or 4 of them, we only have 2. The music is very active in a lot of different styles.

The kidDOS ran and ran, it is incredible all the energy they can have. But we used most of it, since they went for nap time without a complaint.  :)   Happy Mami here!  :)

Princesa decided she needed to teach her baby how to run and hit the finish line.
Principe enjoyed jumping to touch the finished line.
He would tell me "muy alto" (very high) every time he did it.
Running for Jesus!

After all the running we went to try our new watercolors. Like before I was pleased to learn they are handling thing so much better and there was not much mess after the experience.
I still placed cookie trays and aprons just in case we had a spill.

We tried first the paint brushes and then we went on to finger painting.
After some watercolor experience, Principe decided he likes better the race part. Such a boy!
Running while Pirncesa kept coloring.

To improve our motor skills we tried putting all the clothes pins on the line and then taking them all off.
Lots of concentration   :)

We learned the spelling of the word Jesus for the language arts part of our lesson. We used the finish line banner of the race as a guide on the wall, and used some Scrabble pieces to match the name.

The finish line banner became our new car track. Principe loved this part of learning letters and words  :)

Taking the idea from a friend, I placed some masking tape over the number one in our coloring page. This prevented the watercolors from getting there.
After the watercolors were dry we took off the tape, and we got a white-clean number one.
Removing the tape
Proud, happy and tired kidDOS at the end of the day.  :)

What a joy it is to see them grow and learn.  :)  Let me know if you try any of the ideas.
Hope to hear from you,
