The Corrie ten Boom Plan

Perhaps you wonder why I have not written in such a long time...

We moved to a new home.

Yes, it is beautiful!

However...   there is always a however to every good story. Before moving, we decided to sell our previous home. And after that decision, The "Corrie ten Boom" Plan was created. 

We had previously acquired the collection of DVDs from the Torchlighters. These are animated stories of great people of courage and love. One that impacted my children a lot was the story of Corrie ten Boom. We talked about her story for several weeks. When we realized we had to get everything in the house ready for showing (as if no one lived there), what Corrie ten Boom, her family and their guest had to do became a reality to us as well.

When the house was placed on the market, we had to be ready for showing it. Selling a home with 2 seven year olds can be challenging. The Corrie ten Boom Plan helped us in a magnificent way. Every time we said "Corrie ten Boom", we had to make the house look impeccable. Even the kids rooms.  :)

Our school room had to be transformed and changed to a family room. A new learning began for our children. Packing, building, selling and real estate became new vocabulary in our daily activities.

From up to down, and then the back yard, with vacuuming last if we had enough time. Here is our list:

• Make kids beds (each morning)

• Collect and hide all loose items  

• Clean and arrange bathrooms (put away all items in cabinets)

• Open all blinds and curtains

• Pick up all toys

• Open bedroom doors  

• Open office doors

• Put away computers and papers 

• Put away shoes

• Arrange  and puff pillows

• Clean kitchen counters

• Put table cloth in the garage and put flower arrangement out in the table

• Vacuum house

• Put pillows in back yard chairs

Just remembering the process puts a grin in my face.

It is a lovely memory. Yes, we made it!
