A new perspective about grocery shopping

We truly have a very comfortable life style.

Have you ever stopped to appreciate having a car and a garage? This past summer we found appreciation for the little things in life that make the big difference. We had to go grocery shopping for 5 week without a car and living in the seventh floor of an apartment building.
We walked to the store or to the local market. For the market we had to ride some type of public transportation. A careful consideration of what we desire to buy was necessary; because the way back home will be much heavier with every item added. Then we used a lot of ingenuity to communicate about what we wanted to buy. The kidDOS did a great job carrying some of the load. At times they will get discouraged or upset. The lesson on gratitude became more real as we discussed how back home we do not need to carry our groceries for such a long walk.
In a couple occasions a light rain caught us on the way back to our summer apartment. We went back from covered stop to covered stop. And then finally allowing the fresh water to get us wet along with all of our newly acquired belongings. "At home we do not have to get wet" said Princesa.
Let's take some time to appreciate and be thankful for all the commodities we have.
Smiles,

Note: I wish I had more pictures to show you all the load we carry. But sorry, my hands were full to handle the camera.  :)
