God's two books

This year God has spoken to us through Psalm 19. As we meditate on his word, we learn more and more of His plan for us as individuals and as a family.

At the beginning of each year we love to spend special time with God in prayer to hear what He has for us in the new year. This year His voice has been clear. He has something new for our lives that we have not experienced before.
The heavens are telling the glory of God; they are a marvelous display of his craftsmanship. Day and night they keep on telling about God. Without a sound or word, silent in the skies, their message reaches out to all the world. The sun lives in the heavens where God placed it and moves out across the skies as radiant as a bridegroom going to his wedding, or as joyous as an athlete looking forward to a race! The sun crosses the heavens from end to end, and nothing can hide from its heat. -Psalm 19:1-6 (NLT)
In the past Papito and I have learned to study God's written word, the Bible. The Bible has become the book that guides our lives. Now, we feel that nature, and the universe are going to become the second book of God that will help us in our understanding of who He is. Incredible that in mid November last year we decided to study astronomy as our science topic for home school. What a delight to learn about the sun, the planets and the universe. Creation is God's wordless book. The Bible is God's book of words.

Have you had time lately to look at the night sky and appreciate God's immense creation?
