Thi's the Season of Giving

Today Papito spent some time creating a very fun Christmas Story for the kidDOS to explain to them the reason for giving and receiving gifts during Christmas. If Christmas is the celebration of Jesus' Birthday, why do we get gifts instead giving them to Jesus? 

Preparing a Christmas Gift Box

One time Jesus explained: “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:40. During Christmas we give gifts and do acts of kindness because that is like doing it for Jesus.

It is amazing how the human sinful nature comes out since very young ages. As children grow their humanness does not get better. Selfishness, and greed are clear and natural in us. As parents, we do not need to spend any energy teaching that. However, goodness, selflessness, and generosity are values that we need to continually keep on teaching.

This year we prepared Christmas gifts again for children who are less fortunate than us around the world. We participated in Operation Christmas Child, through Samaritans' Purse. What a joy it is to experience giving!

Operation Christmas Child has a new feature in which you can track your box and find out the destination of your gift. We just got our email notification and our gifts went to Mexico.  :)  That gave me even more joy!
