Keep them in your heart

“Pay attention and turn your ear to the sayings of the wise; apply your heart to what I teach, for it is pleasing when you keep them in your heart and have all of them ready on your lips. So that your trust may be in the Lord.” Proverbs 22:17-19

Papito and I desire and are diligent to plant a seed of love for Jesus in the hearts of Principe and Princesa. We find that the only way to love him, is to have a personal knowledge of him. One way that we can know God and his character is to know his word, the Bible. This year we have started a challenge to memorize a Bible verse every week. This challenge is provided through our church by a club called AWANA.
Every week the children meet together to play, sing, create, experiment and also learn and review the lesson and Bible verse of the week.  The kidDOS look forward to go to Awana.  :) They are very cute as they wear their vests and carry their bags with their books
The Awana booklet provides for the parents story time with the club characters, a Bible story time and some activities to do with the children to introduce the lesson of the week and the Bible verse.
At home, we are learning our new routine. Every Monday morning, the first thing we do is to review the booklet and write our Bible verse in a note card. We keep the card in the center of our table and every meal we repeat the Bible verse. A great thing about this challenge is that the weekly lessons have been very timely to use as learning tool in practical ways.
This week our Bible verse is Luke 2:52, “And Jesus grew in wisdom.” We had time to learn the meaning of wisdom and how every decision reflects if we are growing in wisdom or not; just as Jesus also grew in wisdom.  When the kiddos seem to be having trouble making the right choice, like not winning, or being obedient, I ask them: Are you going to be wise? What are you going to do? The responses have been very positive.  :)
I hope the eternal truths of the Bible will remain in the kidDOS lives forever and will help them as they walk in life to make the right choices.
Is the Bible a guide for your life?
